Funding Committee

Committee Status:   Open for Committee Member Volunteers [Click Here]

This Funding Committee will investigate the variety of funding source that are available from federal, state, municipal, public, private, angel or other investment organizations.  The committee investigation is intended to identify the variety of funding sources that are geographically located within the North Texas Region.  The committee should additionally identify any specific transaction and/or performance terms and conditions for receiving funding from the organizations.   Upon completion of the investigation, the committee is to present the results of the investigation to the Nanotechnology Focus Group in a finalized PowerPoint Presentation.


National Nanoelectronics Center Committee

The National Nanoelectronics Center Committee will investigate all of the competitive aspects of proposing a National Nanoelectronics Center to be located in the North Texas Region.  This committee investigation is intended to positively position the North Texas Region in the best competitive environment in relation to other Texas or southwestern state locations which may be under consideration for federal, state, private or government institution funding.   Membership on this committee is a critical leadership role.  Upon completion of the investigation, the committee is to present the results of the investigation to the Nanotechnology Focus Group in a finalized PowerPoint Presentation.

Environment Committee

This Environment Committee will investigate of the impact of the introduction Nanotechnology and Nanomaterials into both the manufacturing and end use environments.  The scope of the investigation should include all aspects of transporting, handling, integration and disposal of products which may utilize Nanotechnology.  Upon completion of the investigation, the committee is to present the results of the investigation to the Nanotechnology Focus Group in a finalized PowerPoint Presentation.

March 2006 - International Alliance of Nanotechnology Regions Committee

Committee Status:  Open for Focus Group Discussion and Feedback [Click Here]

The Nanotechnology Focus Group is actively seeking membership opinion and feedback for potential committee formation and participation in the  International Alliance of Nanotechnology Regions was proposed by the Metroplex Technology Business Council as a potential networking organization for communications and interactions with other Nanotechnology Cluster cities - both domestic and internationally.  The Nanotechnology Focus Group is seeking membership feedback from this proposal on both technical and commercial topics which may influence the groups interaction with other organizations with similar objectives.

February 2006 - Building Materials Committee

Committee Status:  Closed

From a Building Materials Committee, "The Application of Nanotechnology to Texas Stadium" is a project that was initiated to provide a collaborative overview of the possibility of utilizing Nanotechnology materials in the roof renovation of the existing Texas Stadium.  The presentation also gives insight to potential applications of Nanotechnology materials to the new Texas Stadium scheduled for completion during 2009.

January 2006 - The Nanotech Corridor Committee

Committee Status:  Closed

From The Nanotechnology Corridor Committee, the final presentation of an introduction to "The Nanotechnology Corridor" is a project that was initiated to provide a collaborative overview of the possibility of transforming the Dallas Metroplex into a Nanotechnology Corridor 'Cluster' similar to other 'High-Tech' metropolitan areas throughout the United States.  This presentation was used to introduce dignitaries from the City of Dallas to the activities of the Nanotechnology Focus Group.
